think about why Indians are shoter in height that any other country ?
The rate of growing in terms of height is slower in India compared to
other countries. According to a study in past years average height of
Indian man and women have gone up to only 5 cm and 3 cm since 1914.
Which means Indians have grown taller at slowest rates in the past
century. A Study conducted in this concern shows that the average
height of 18-year-old whether its girl or boy increased in past 100
years. The reaserchers looked around the globe and studied height
pattern in 200 countries.They
have took time frame between 1914 and 2014. They have found out some
interesting facts like adults height varies drastically across the
globe. If we talk about India the average height of women increased
by 5 cm it was 152 cm in 2014 which was 147 cm in 1914. Similarly men
are grown taller by 3 cm in hundred year time. But this trend is
different from other countries like in South Korea the women grew by
20 cm and men by 15 cm.
The study showed some interesting facts like people in South Korea, Iran and Japan gained more than Europe in terms of height. We should also look at the fact that women in Japan and South Korea also have achieved more in life expectancy in the world. Life expectancy is highest in both the countries. The study shows that rise in height stopped early in South Asia. Indian men ranked 101 in this study of 200 countries. Indian women are also among the 10 shortest according to this study.

Lets
look into the reasons responsible for Indian's shorter height. It
largly depend on undernutrition and malnutrition levels which is
lower in India. Doctors believe that poor health of pregnant woomen
can adversely affect the height of a child. Some experts blame it on
Indian diet which is rich in carbohydrates and with less proteins.
Along with that the increasing lack of physical activity also results
in slow height increase.
